But of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see God because you want to rule your own life.
[Emphasis mine]
You say that like it's a bad thing.
all us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.
we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.
but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

this week they finish up a chapter in the "imitate their faith" book about peter.
they cover the account of jesus walking on water.
in the story peter also walks on the water out to jesus.
Walking on water. Geez, I can't believe I used to swallow that crap.
i haven`t seen much if anything on the rio olympic games on this forum , i can`t believe their is so little interest in such a sporting event that is televised world wide.. i don`t get to watch everything , but events i do like to see when i can are, track and field ,gymnastics ,swimming , diving ,and their are a few other sports i will watch when they are on , especially if an australian is involved.. how about you ?
whats your favourite sport to watch ?.
has the "drug" issue affected your view of the games ?
The major news programmes at 6, 9 and 10 pm on BBC One never get moved as a rule. Also the BBC2 Newsnight programme at 10:30. So the Olympic coverage gets switched during the news. In the UK you can also press the "Red Button" and select a menu of Olympic events that are being streamed simultaneously.
If it's to avoid preempting news that makes sense. But I was trying to follow men's gymnastics and it seemed like every 15 minutes they were shifting it around not for news, but to cover another sport. I'll pay more attention next time.
A "red button" too? I was already jealous of you guys, you didn't have to rub it in.

The BBC does an excellent job of covering sport.
No advert breaks ever!
The commentary is also straightforward and focuses on the athletes instead of the "wittiness" of the commentators. And they give fair coverage to athletes from other countries, not just their own. Despite what the rest of the world thinks, there are Americans who realize not everything revolves around us. I cheer for Team U.S.A but mostly I'm on Team Whoever-Does-the-Best.
I don't understand why they'll move a sport from BBC One to Four, then Two, then back to One, etc. But for no ads, it's worth it

My preference is gymnastics but I enjoy most all of them except for the team sports. I love the Olympics! My favorite part is the Parade of Nations during the opening ceremony. So many people from such different backgrounds living and competing peacefully together for a few weeks. What's not to like?
I hate the coverage in the US though. BBC does a much better job.
i really felt for you sisters i mean i really did.
when you showed up at the sunday meeting and found out the subject of the talk was going to be -and i can't quite remember the exact wording- but something to the effect of marriage and headship, or honoring and obeying your husband, or something like that how many of you wanted to jump right back in your car and head home.
i mean 45 straight minutes of beating down you poor ladies and telling you that you are not worthy of making one decision, taking the lead in anything, don't question the man be obedient and keep quiet.
The justification of the "headship arrangement" (barf) is that husbands are in subjection to Jesus. Why, husbands are held to an even higher standard--wives are getting off easy! Of course a husband's headship is someone he never has to look at, talk to, sleep with, eat with, or interact with in any way that impacts his physical day-to-day life but it's still totally the same thing! A wife shows subjection by providing housekeeping services, bedroom services, letting him make all the rules and never bitching about anything. A husband shows his subjection to Christ by...um..?
let's be clear: people have the right to like or dislike what they want - that is why the option is there.
as long as they are not doing it in a malicious way to retaliate or game the system, there is no policing the votes.
if you get a down-vote, live with it.
How about removing the thumbs down button altogether if that is possible? It's the posts with lots of likes that catch my attention anyway.
russell had some charisma, as did the alcoholic womanizer, j.f.
rutherford.
n.h. knorr, not so much.
Osteen's a con man? I've watched his sermons for years and I can't recall ever hearing him ask for money. He is more of a motivational speaker than a preacher which is probably why as an atheist, he's the only preacher I can tolerate. He still mentions God too much for my liking, lol. Fortunately I've developed an efficient God-filter over the years so all I hear is how I'm a masterpiece and destined for greatness.
I've often thought that if more of the brothers spoke like Osteen, I might've stayed a little longer (or paid more attention while I was in, lol). Talk about unnatural and rehearsed! The majority had such horrible grammar and poor enunciation--mumbling, stumbling, stuttering. Plus no sense of humor. At least Osteen knows how to tell a joke if nothing else. Maybe it sounds nit-picky, but the elders' poor speaking skills really lessened my respect for them.
Like someone upthread said, Osteen is too happy for this negative cult. His allows his kids to go to college, his family vacations in Disneyland. He believes in heaven but also that God wants you to be happy NOW and to never settle. Quite the opposite of JWs who want you to sacrifice all earthly pleasures for happiness in the future. Even if by some chance Osteen did become entangled with the JWs, they'd suck all the joy and happiness out of him because they are just that toxic. They're joy vampires. He wouldn't stand a chance.
so jws believe all humans have faults, problems, birth pangs, etc., because we all inherited sin from the original human being adam.
like i would like this to make since but why would jehovah do this to future humans who have done nothing wrong at all?
i think of it like if a parent has one child and that child really disobeyed her before then when the parent has a second child, she punishes that child because of what her first did.
Because it's like a pan with a dent in it. Any loaf baked in that pan will have that same dent. Adam/Eve are the pan, sin is the dent, and you are the bread. You were born dented. At least that's how it was explained when I was in. It never sat right with me that I should be made to pay for someone else's mistake and was one of the first teachings that started to wake me up.
